Celebrate Everyday-August 22

As most of you may know, a personal mission I’ve set for 2015 has been to celebrate a year of national days. “Celebrate Everyday” serves as a reminder to rejoice in the everyday moments of appreciation, laughter, and love and in this journey we call life.

Last year on my 30th birthday I challenged myself to perform 30 random acts of kindness. It was a rewarding experience that I will never forget. I’ve decided to make this challenge a yearly mission. Ideally, I would like to perform the RAK ON my actual birthday, however due to a work commitment, I am unable to.

I’ve chosen today, August 22 to complete my RAK mission. I was reviewing the “Celebrate Everyday” calendar and was pleasantly surprised with the synchronicity of today’s reason to celebrate.

According to holidayinsights.com:

Be an Angel Day

Date When Celebrated: Always August 22

Be an Angel Day encourages us to do acts of kindness, and to help others.

This special day has strong religious roots. Jayne Howard Feldman, the creator of this day, says she was inspired by angels to create this day on August 22.

The objective of this day is to be like an angel, and do something good or kind for someone. It encourages us to be God’s servant in doing good things for others. It is intended to do something nice or kind for someone who is in need of help. The type of angelic help you can offer is not defined or limited. It can be physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Be an Angel Day is for both the giver and the receiver. If you are the receiver, make certain to express openly your appreciation. And, recognize the angel in your life as being sent from God.”

I am a firm believer that “Things happen for a reason” I am also amazed at the concurrence I am privileged to witness in my own personal life. I am in no way comparing myself to an angel, but I do live to give by way of love and light. Out of all of the 365+/- holidays I’ve attempted to celebrate this year, I have no doubt that today will be my favorite.

Great thanks to all of my family and friends that continue to support my daily adventures!

Stay tuned!
